Talent Collective / Imagen Technologies
A note to candidates
Imagen is building what they describe as the AI-enabled teleradiology practice of the future — and by end of year, they'll be the fifth-largest teleradiology group in the country. The growth is real: 3.5 million patients across 23 states today, with a target of 35 states and 5 million patients annually by 2027.
We're placing for two roles on their clinical recruiting team. The Candidate Success Manager is, in the company's own words, one of the most important roles at Imagen — the single largest driver of their P&L. If they don't sign great radiologists, nothing else works. The VP of Specialist Recruiting is the leadership layer above that: building the function, setting the strategy, and owning the full physician recruiting motion as they scale aggressively.
If you have clinical or physician recruiting experience — or strong full-cycle recruiting chops and want to break into healthcare — this is worth a serious look.
Imagen
Building the AI-enabled teleradiology practice of the future — combining fellowship-trained radiologists and FDA-cleared AI into a managed service for practices that couldn't otherwise afford one.
What they do
Imagen is not a pure AI software company. It's a vertically integrated managed service — they handle the full imaging workflow: equipment, AI-assisted interpretation, accreditation support, EMR integration, and virtual specialist consults. The pitch to independent practices is a turnkey imaging department they couldn't otherwise afford or staff.
The core differentiation: most competitors choose a lane — either AI software (Aidoc, Viz.ai) or traditional teleradiology (Radiology Partners, vRad). Imagen does both. Their reads come from fellowship-trained, sub-specialized radiologists working with FDA-cleared AI that catches what humans miss and vice versa.
This matters clinically. A 73% reduction in life-threatening misses on chest imaging. A 47% reduction in fracture misinterpretations, published in PNAS. These aren't marketing claims — they're peer-reviewed results. The AI has FDA clearance; the research is in Nature, PNAS, and NPJ Digital Medicine.
"Ensure that every patient receives the right diagnosis at the right time."
— Alex Dresner, CEO & Co-founder
Funding & traction
$200M+ raised across five rounds, each tied to a specific milestone rather than a fundraising cycle. The cap table reads as a decade of conviction: Hospital for Special Surgery seeded the company, Google Ventures came in at the Series B, and the 2026 growth round was funded entirely by existing investors — nobody new needed to be convinced.

Why candidates are excited
The mission has teeth — and a personal origin story
The CEO built this company after diagnostic radiology missed his father's cancer, then missed his own. That's not a pitch — it's a reason to show up every day. The team is mission-driven in a way that comes through in how they talk about the work.
Fastest-growing teleradiology group in the country
They're on track to be the fifth-largest teleradiology practice in the U.S. by end of this year, expanding from 23 to 35 states and from 3.5M to 5M patients annually by 2027. The velocity is real.
A model competitors can't quickly copy
Imagen occupies a unique position: the only major player combining fellowship-trained sub-specialists with FDA-cleared AI in a managed service. Pure-play AI vendors (Aidoc, Viz.ai) don't provide radiologist reads. Traditional teleradiology groups (Radiology Partners, vRad) don't have Imagen's AI. The integrated model is harder to replicate than either side alone.
Ten years of investors who keep re-upping
The funding history tracks the product, not the market. Hospital for Special Surgery — one of the top orthopedic hospitals in the country — seeded the company in 2016, which is a clinical endorsement before it's a financial one. Threshold Ventures funded the run at FDA clearance in 2017, Google Ventures backed the AI investment in 2018, and Casdin Capital funded commercialization in 2021. The 2026 growth round came entirely from existing investors: the people closest to the numbers chose to double down.
Culture: written, data-driven, high-bar
Meetings come with pre-reads. Decisions come with data. The team expects you to show up prepared and draw conclusions from evidence. For people who want that kind of operating environment in healthcare, it's rare.
Open roles
Talent Collective is placing candidates into the following roles. Reach out to learn more or get introduced.
VP, Specialist Recruiting
Clinical Talent · Remote

Build and lead the specialist recruiting team, manage the full funnel from RVU requirements to signed contracts, and partner closely with clinical operations and executive leadership. This role is critical to Imagen's ability to expand into new states and hit its 2027 growth targets.
Candidate Success Manager
Clinical Talent · Remote
Own the middle and late stages of the radiologist candidate journey — converting qualified applicants into signed physicians. Negotiate compensation within defined parameters, maintain pipeline integrity, partner with the medical director to close, and drive candidate experience end-to-end. Described internally as one of the most important roles at Imagen: the single largest driver of the company's P&L.
